"The problem of Kashmir is not new and is due to problems like unemployment in the valley," Singh told reporters here.
He said the Centre is finding ways to resolve the problems in the valley.
On deployment of army in Kashmir in the wake of deteriorating law and order situation, Singh said, "It (the army) was called there on the request of the Chief Minister Omer Abdullah...Though Army is deployed there but it is not being used. I don't think it was called to be used against the agitators but it was there just to check violence.
