Pro-India parties responsible for killings of youth: HCBA

Srinagar, July 13: The High Court Bar Association of occupied Kashmir has said that the pro-India political parties are responsible for the ongoing killings of innocent Kashmiri youth in the territory.
The Bar Secretary General, Ghulam Nabi Shaheen, while addressing a press conference at Saddar court in Srinagar, termed the ongoing uprising as a mass movement and said that the people were voluntarily participating in the movement.
He condemned the spate of killing of innocent youth by Indian troops and police terming the phenomenon as a process of genocide being perpetrated by the occupation forces. “India wants to kill our future generation to suppress the idea of right to self-determination,” he maintained.
Referring to the detention of the Bar President, Mian Abdul Qayoom under draconian Public Safety Act as an attack on judiciary, Ghulam Nabi Shaheen said that the puppet administration had devised a policy to suppress the lawyer fraternity to prevent them from pleading the illegal detention cases of Hurriyet leaders and activists.
He said that as a mark of protest against the undemocratic and unconstitutional arrest of Mian Qayoom, the Bar Association had suspended the work in courts till Thursday. However, he appealed all the lawyers of Kashmir to be present in the High Court on July 14 to represent the PSA case of Mian Qayoom.
He also urged the international community to impress upon India to resolve the Kashmir dispute by holding a free, fair and impartial plebiscite under the relevant UN resolutions.
